2. Information we collect

When you request pricing

We collect your name, company name, email address, telephone number if provided, selected categories and products, quantities, and the information written in your message.

Name, company, and email are required. You must also choose a product or describe your request. Without this information, we cannot process the request. Telephone is optional.

When you browse

To measure general website use, we record the page visited, date and time, and a random session identifier. That identifier stays in your browser until the session closes and does not contain your name or email address.

Your language choice and products added to a request may be stored locally in your browser. The site currently uses no advertising cookies and performs no commercial profiling.

3. Why we use this information

  • Respond to pricing, availability, and delivery requests
  • Contact you about your request
  • Prepare a business relationship requested by you
  • Understand which pages and categories are viewed
  • Secure, maintain, and improve the website
  • Meet legal obligations and prevent misuse

By voluntarily submitting the form, you consent to the necessary use and disclosure of your information for these purposes. We will obtain new consent before any incompatible use unless the law allows or requires it.

4. Who may receive information

Within FMR, access is limited to people who need the information to answer requests, administer the website, or meet our obligations. We may also use service providers that host, secure, or operate the website and its database. They may process information only to provide services to FMR and under their contractual or legal obligations.

Some providers may process information outside Québec or Canada, where laws may differ. Before such a disclosure, FMR must assess the relevant privacy factors and put appropriate safeguards in place.

We do not sell or rent personal information and do not disclose it to advertisers.

5. Google Maps, WhatsApp and external links

The Google map is disabled by default. If you select “Load interactive map” or open directions, your browser connects directly to Google. Google may then receive technical information such as your IP address, browser, and map interaction, and may process it outside Québec or Canada under its own privacy policy.

Likewise, if you choose the WhatsApp link, you leave FMR’s website and WhatsApp’s practices apply. FMR does not automatically send your form contents to Google or WhatsApp.

6. Retention and destruction

A price request saved through the website is normally retained for no more than 24 months after submission. Website traffic statistics are normally retained for no more than 13 months. The data is then deleted or anonymized.

If a request leads to an order or business relationship, some information may be retained longer in FMR’s business records when needed for contractual, tax, accounting, warranty, dispute, or other legal requirements.

7. Security safeguards

FMR uses reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards appropriate to the sensitivity of the information, including restricted access, encrypted website connections, and protected hosting services. No transmission or storage method is completely secure.

8. Your rights

Subject to legal exceptions, you may ask whether we hold information about you, obtain access, request correction, withdraw consent, request deletion where the law allows, or obtain eligible computerized information in a structured and commonly used technological format.

Contact the Privacy Officer at (438) 357-7638 or by mail at the address shown above. We may request reasonable proof of identity before responding. We will normally handle an access or correction request within the 30-day period provided by Québec law.

9. Questions and complaints

Please first direct any question or complaint to the Privacy Officer. If you are not satisfied, you may contact the Commission d’accès à l’information du Québec or, where federal law applies, the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada.

The revised version will be posted here with its effective date and, where required by law, an appropriate notice will be provided.
